In this tutorial, we're using D'Addario NYXL 10–46s, which I've used for years. But whatever strings you're into, as long as they're a type you like and fit your guitar, you're good to go.

A Few Extra Tips

Always loosen your strings before cutting to avoid tension shock to your neck.
If you're using locking tuners, you usually don't need multiple winds—jull the string tight, lock it down, and wind gently.
If you have trouble feeding the strings through the body, especially on a Strat, it's usually just a matter of fiddling until the holes line up.
Stretching your strings properly is one of the most important steps—don't skip it. A quick stretch now can save you a lot of tuning frustration later.
Take your time. String changing isn't a race—it's a little bit of guitar therapy.
